The Nathan Larramendy Gallery presented its inaugural exhibition September 2003. The gallery is located in Ojai, a historic town in California and is founded on the philosophy that relevant contemporary art can survive anywhere, even outside of a major urban environment. With this belief, Nathan Larramendy presents up to ten solo and group exhibitions a year consisting of emerging and established artists working with conceptually rigorous ideas. The gallery, as a part of a larger community, aims to cultivate collaboration with gallery artists from around the country, other contemporary art galleries, and non-profit art organizations.
The Nathan Larramendy Gallery participates in a number of art fairs including PULSE - Miami, New York and London. We were awarded the PULSE Prize (best in show) at PULSE - Miami in 2006 for the solo installation, Cakewalk, by San Francisco based artist Travis Summerville. The gallery has received reviews in Art in America, Los Angeles Times, Beautiful Decay, Artweek, NY Arts Magazine, Art Ltd., Santa Barbara Magazine, Ventura County Star, VC Reporter, Art Blogging LA and numerous other art blogs.
